Peter Morrisey Designer

Big W may not be H&M or Target but that hasn’t stopped Peter Morrissey and Bruno Schiavi unveiling their first collection for BIG W titled MAN by Peter Morrissey and WOMAN by Peter Morrissey to a group of close friends, Big W staff and media last week at the Summit Restaurant in Sydney.

The dress collection has something for everybody and was designed to inspire women to wear something special, everyday. From this seasons must have looks in sequins and body hugging forms to the more classic draped shoestring and one shoulder dress, the range showcases Peter Morrissey’s signature style that his fans adore. The affordable range showcases fresh, bold colours with sexy lines and the show stopping floor length Maxi Dress in the bold black and white zebra print. From the perfect office look to cocktails, Christmas parties, a day at the races or drinks with friends. Woman by Peter Morrissey has got you covered.

The Woman by Peter Morrissey lingerie collection also ensures that not only will you look great on the outside but underneath as well. The range includes lingerie for special occasions as well as everyday wear: Bra’s, briefs, g-strings and baby dolls in feminine pink lace with soft frills, bows or diamante charms create a luxurious range of lingerie that is comfortable and sexy. The classic delicate black is present as well as colours ranging from pinks, corals, mauves and aqua marine. This gorgeous designer range comes with quality, comfort and value at the forefront minus the price tag.

Collette Dinnigan recently signed an exclusive lingerie deal with Marks & Spencer in the UK and now fellow Aussie label Zimmermann is also doing well there with its new underwear line. Top London department store Selfridges picked up the inaugural range for its newly renovated intimate apparel department. The gear’s more pretty than racy but it’s turning heads nonetheless, thanks to a fairly radical Oxford Street (London, not Sydney) window campaign shot by wild photographer Rankin of Dazed & Confused magazine fame (pictured below). And yes, that is a dog. Weird, but strangely seductive.
Beach babes make a splash
Five years ago, you would have been hard-pressed to find a swimsuit that was designed for beauty rather than backstroke. Back then it was all very Speedo. Nowadays, it seems every chicky babe with a remotely stylish bone in her body is turning out a fashion-inspired swimwear range. Think Zimmermann, Tigerlily, Hussy, Sandra Thom, Nicola, Lisa Ho . . . And here’s another to add to the list, Hallicanboodie, from sisters Halle and Savannah Purcell. The girls, who both studied footwear design (odd, huh?), grew up on Whale Beach and this is their first range. They’ve used rare vintage fabrics which they’ve fashioned into cute retro styles (pictured left). And the unusual name? It’s their nicknames joined. Prices start from $120. Available at Museum Clothing, 296 Oxford Street, Paddington,
Cornering the market
Talk on the street is that former Sample designer Natalie Wood is about to launch her own accessories line, Love Natalie, which will be sold through The Corner Shop. The small range of "charm" wristbands and neckpieces with dangling gold trinkets have been fashioned out of old men’s striped and spotted ties. Sounds like a great extenstion off her hit "shirt collar" pieces. Prices start at $60 and it will be in store next week. The Corner Shop, 43 William Street, Paddington.Morrissey expands
Another whisper floating around is that Peter Morrissey is about to launch an underwear range. Can you think of anyone more perfect to do kick-arse undies? We can’t. The self-styled Aussie version of Calvin Klein is expected to launch the range early in the new year, adding to the growing range of Morrissey products that already includes bags, shoes and sunglasses. Talk about empire building.
Bloom blossoms
Fans of home-grown beauty brand Bloom Cosmetics now don’t have to spend hours hunting for their fave coloured Aromatherapy Lip Gloss around town. You can head to the brand’s beauty counter in Grace Bros, which opened last week. Bloom was mentioned in a UK newspaper article recently as part of the "Bondi beauty boom" taking over London, along with Kusco-Murphy hair products plus Aesop and Arnaud skincare brands. Natalie Bloom says Australia’s outdoor culture is a huge influence. "Along with serious sun care, Australian women are into natural colours with a hint of the experimental," she says. &quot,Cheap Christian Louboutin;Australian products are now considered technologically advanced and fashion-forward."
