Designer Home Material Sewing

In the Far East side of the Earth, most sellers take pride in whatever product they are selling. Thousands of products that are sold in this part of the globe are hand-crafted by extremely talented and devoted individuals. The amount of work that is put into each product is absolutely fascinating. For example, there are lots of individuals who make handmade Asian dolls to sell to tourists who visit. Another example would be Asian dinnerware pieces that are made with very ornate and elaborate designs hand-sewn on them. These dresses are made all the time for natives and for tourists who decide to purchase one or more home with them. Below is an ordered list of things that are done to get the handmade products finished:

1. First, the products, such as an ordinary mask for Chinese New Year, or the material for the cloth is given to the artist so they can begin to do create their masterpiece. This is when the base coat is painted onto the item, if it is a product that requires paint, like plates or teapots. If the product is a clothing item, this is the point where the maker starts thinking about how to make the design with the materials given to or requested by whoever is making the garment.

2. Second, the person making the product must wait until the paint is dry, if it is a hand-painted product, or take a break from sewing if it is a piece of cloth that is in the process of being created. This can take a few days depending on what the item actually is. If it is made out of clay, then it may take longer than a few days because the item would have to be placed in a kiln to help make sure the clay and base coat of paint solidify.

3. Third, the item needs to have a second coat of paint, with more paint to either correct any errors, deepen the color, or continue with the smaller parts of the product, like an eye on a mask, for example. Then the item, if made of clay, would go back into the kiln after the finishing touches to make sure the new paint put on stays. For a product that is cloth, this is when the sewing and/or stitching of the item is to be finished.

4. Finally, for a painted item, the seal of an overcoat is put on, again to make sure the original paint does not fade or get chipped away. If the item is a garment, this is when the item is created to be the item of clothing for which it was made at the manufacturers to become a shirt, dress, skirt, etc. The benefit of hand-crafted products are that they are truly one-of-a-kind items. Also, you can always see the amount of hard work that was put into each item. The people who create these items are making pieces of art even though the designs are not put onto a traditional canvas. If you have the opportunity to buy a hand-crafted item, it is almost always worth the extra money to own something that has a lot of work in it and something that truly is a masterpiece.

Even for those without sewing skills, however, there are now no-sew textile glues that can withstand even machine washing. Practically anyone can, therefore, do these tasks.CurtainsFor the cheapest makeover, you can add strips of ribbon in coordinating or contrasting colors to your existing curtains. For plain curtains, you can add vertical stripes, horizontal stripes, diagonal stripes or grids using a single color or a combination of colors. For printed curtains, choose a color from the print and use ribbons in that color to frame the sides and bottom of each panel. You may also choose to use rickrack or other kinds of trim instead of ribbons. If you have a little more change to spare, you may want to purchase a swatch of fabric in complementary shades and texture to your existing curtains. You can sew on horizontal panels, creating solid blocks of color. If your old curtains are partially damaged but you still love the material, you can cut them and make them into café curtains that cover just the lower halves of your kitchen windows, or short curtains for the top of those windows. You might also want to make totally new curtains. Instead of making them in a solid color, choose shades from your interiors and upholstery and make curtains featuring fabrics of these colors sewn together in horizontal panels. If you want some light to come into your rooms, choose sheer fabrics for your new curtains. If you place your curtain rods just beneath the ceiling and hang your sheer curtains down to the floor, the effect can be very dramatic. These are also very appropriate for French doors, in which case they should be tied with a complementary sash or ribbon to allow easy entry and exit.DraperiesThe only difference between curtains and draperies is that draperies are always lined. Any treatment you can do for non-sheer curtains can, therefore, also be applied to drapes.ShadesExisting shades in plain material can be prettified with patterns and designs in acrylic paint. A ribbon in a complementary or contrasting color can be glued to the lower edge of the shade for accent. You may also glue pretty patterned paper over your existing shade. Some possibilities are remnants of unused wallpaper, special gift wrappers or even origami paper. You can use one design or make a combination of several designs in complementary shades and patterns. Make sure the paper is glued on neatly, without wrinkles and air bubbles. Use spray on craft adhesive for best results.BlindsBlinds are very functional but when you get tired of them, they are not very cheap to replace. You can, instead, disguise them with inexpensive café curtains or shades covering their lower halves.Try any of these tricks to quickly transform your window treatments and interior design. It would be even better to coordinate your window treatments with your furniture, upholstery and bedding. It would be like having a major renovation of your Tampa home.
