Details : PDF Format, 45Mb The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at The Pennsylvania State University is an integral part of one of the leading research universities in the nation and serves as a university center of excellence in Defense Science and Technologies, with a focus in naval missions and related areas.

ARL is currently searching for a Research Faculty Member for the Electromagnetics and Geospatial Systems Division of the Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO).

The CINO at ARL serves as a research center of excellence in communication technologies, information fusion and processing, navigation science and visualization, in response to sponsor needs. To fulfill this, CINO performs basic and applied research, exploratory development and advanced development in support of program sponsors and champions the transfer of advanced technologies to naval acquisition programs and fleet operations, as well as to other government agencies and the private sector.

You will develop and lead basic research and applied research programs in the area of applied antenna theory and design, sensor design and direction-finding and geo-location algorithm development. In addition, you will work with sponsors to define requirements and identify funding and work with faculty and staff to develop a robust research portfolio in these areas.

Faculty rank will be commensurate with education level and experience. Requirements include a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or Physics, plus 10 - 15 years of work related experience. Familiarity with DoD and IC programs is preferred. Hands-on familiarity with the fabrication, integration, test and evaluation of antennas, arrays and sensors is a significant plus. Experience in antenna design and analysis, RF propagation, direction funding and geo-location and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) is required. Also required is travel to the Washington, D.C. area, as well as other areas, as necessary.
